PHIL STACEY CONCERTSunday, November 17 @ 6:00 PM(Doors open at 5:00 PM)FREE Concert with a Love Offering!Husband...Father...Military Man...Music Minister...Recording Artist... Those words immediately evoke images of strength, character and integrity -- and they paint a perfect picture of Phil Stacey. One of the Top 5 finalists on season six of American Idol, Stacey's powerful voice caught the attention of more than 30 million television viewers each week.Phil Stacey's first appearance on the sixth season of American Idol was a memorable one, as it was revealed that the United States Sailor was missing the birth of his second daughter in order to audition for the show in Memphis. It was a memorable introduction to the American public, presenting the Jacksonville, FL, native in a very appealing light. Of course, it helped that Stacey (age 29 at the start of the show in 2007) had one of the strongest backstories of any of the Top 24 contestants. The son of a pastor, he had been singing in church since childhood and continued to pursue music as an adult, taking lessons while he was in college at Lee University. He married his wife, Kendra, who gave birth to their daughters Chloe and McKayla (the latter being born the day of his audition), and he supported his family as a U.S. Sailor, remaining on active duty as he appeared on the TV show. While he was in the Navy, he regularly sang and appeared in Navy-sponsored music events. Encouraged by a friend, he auditioned for the show and made it from the Memphis rounds to Hollywood, where he eventually made it into the Top 24 (the Navy reassigned him to California so he could compete). The first week on the show, Stacey sang Edwin McCain's "I Could Not Ask for More," which judge Randy Jackson proclaimed as "hot!," elaborating that Stacey gave the best performance of the guys that week. The second week brought a performance of John Waite's "Missing You," which was praised by Jackson and fellow judge Paula Abdul, as well as the show's voting public.Stacey truly hit his stride during country week, which set the stage for his subsequent career as a recording artist. Following Idol, he signed with Lyric Street Records and began working on an album, the first single from which, "If You Didn't Love Me", was released to country stations early in 2008. His self-titled debut followed in April. Stacey toured in support of the album and returned to the studio several months later, where he chose to focus on his Christian upbringing instead of the Nashville-influenced sounds of his debut. Released in August 2009, Into the Light fused religious themes with pop/rock songwriting."I know what I stand for," Phil says. "My life revolves around my faith, my family and music. I love being active in my church and I was proud during "Idol" to represent the Navy."He is, as you might expect, a man doing music for more than selfish reasons. "I feel my job as a singer," he says, "is part of my job as a human being. I'm supposed to be touching other people's lives, doing the best I can to be a positive force in the world." And there is no doubt that as an artist and as a person, he will be a great addition to the music world.

NEXT STEPSWhat are the Next Steps after the First Step of Salvation?BIBLE READINGThe Bible is God's letter to us. Reading it on a daily basis will help to understand and learn what God offers, and what God desires.PRAYER TIMESpend time praying to God every day. Prayer is more than merely talking to him, we can listen to him as he prompts and leads us.CHURCH ATTENDANCEFind a church home and be faithful. If you don't have one, we'd love for you to join with us and be encouraged in your walk with God.WATER BAPTISMBeing baptized in water is a step of obedience that follows salvation. Jesus himself was baptized, and instructed us to follow his example.
FIRST STEPSGod loves you and has a wonderful life planned for you. You can read about how to get that life in the Bible, God's Word. In the Gospel of John 10:10, Jesus says "I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full." Everyone does not have the wonderful life that God planned because of the sin in his or her lives. In modern society, sin is often thought about as something you do that makes God mad, but it is really a problem of the heart. In fact, God's word says, we all are sinners, Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."Despite your sin God loves you and has given you a most precious gift. The gift is His Son, Jesus, who has made a way for each person to have a wonderful life free and forgiven of all sin. Romans 5:8, "...God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ (Jesus) died for us."So, how do you get this gift? All you have to do is believe that Jesus is His Son, ask forgiveness for sin, and commit to live a life following the example Jesus set for you. Romans 10:9, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."What are you waiting for? Jesus wants to enter your heart today. Revelation 3:20, "Here I am, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in..."Right now, if you choose to believe that Jesus died for your sins and you are ready to receive Him into your heart, you can pray a prayer similar to the one follows:Dear God, I know that I have sinned and I believe that Jesus died for my sins. I want to receive into my heart the gift you have given me, Jesus, Your son. Please take away my sins because I want the wonderful life you have planned for me. Thank you for giving me Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Amen
WHAT WE BELIEVEThese are nonnegotiable tenets of faith that all Assemblies of God churches adhere to. This list is derived from the official Statement of Fundamental Truths. Click on each statement below to see the completeoriginal statement with scriptures.WE BELIEVE...the Scriptures are inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.WE BELIEVE...there is only one true God – revealed in three persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).WE BELIEVE...in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God's son, Jesus was both human and divine.WE BELIEVE...though originally good, man willingly fell to sin – ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.WE BELIEVE...every person can have restored fellowship with God through 'Salvation' (trusting Christ, through faith and repentance, to be our personal Savior). [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]WE BELIEVE...and practice two ordinances — (1) Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving Christ's gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation.WE BELIEVE...the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a special experience following salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]WE BELIEVE...the initial physical evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is ‘speaking in tongues,’ as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.WE BELIEVE...sanctification initially occurs at salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike.WE BELIEVE...the Church has a Mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe 'the Church' is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God's offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.WE BELIEVE...a divinely called and scripturally ordained leadership ministry serves the Church. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, to build up or edify the body of believers – the Church and to meet human need with ministries of love and compassion.WE BELIEVE...divine healing of the sick is a privilege for Christians today and is provided for in Christ's atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins). [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]WE BELIEVE...in the Blessed Hope — When Jesus raptures His Church prior to His return to Earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]WE BELIEVE...in the Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.WE BELIEVE...a final judgment will take place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire.WE BELIEVE...and look forward to the perfect new Heavens and a new Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. 'And so shall we forever be with the Lord!'

OUR VISIONWhat kind of place should the church BE?A PLACE TO BELONG (Matthew 9:9-13)Jesus invited Matthew and others to come follow Him. The imperfect, the outcast and the outsider were always welcomed with open arms. Come as you are! We welcome everyone to BELONG.A PLACE TO BELIEVE (Romans 10:9-10)BELIEVE in a God who loves you with an unconditional, unchanging and unending love. BELIEVE in a Savior, Jesus Christ, who died for you and rose again. BELIEVE in His ability to leave your past in the past. BELIEVE in a Bible that is God’s personal letter, written for you and written for today. A PLACE TO BECOME (2 Corinthians 5:17)God loves you and wants to build you to BECOME Christ-like. He sees and seeks to develop your potential, using you for His purpose.
